Synagogue
A synagogue (/ˈsɪnəɡɒɡ/; from Ancient Greek συναγωγή, synagogē, 'assembly'; Hebre: בית כנסת bet knesset, 'house of assembly', or בית תפילה bet tefila, "house of prayer"; Yiddisk: שול shul, Ladino: אשנוגה esnoga, 'bright as fire'; or קהל kahal) is a Jewish (mainly) or Samaritan (rarely) house of worship. Synagogues have a place for prayer (the main sanctuary) and may also have rooms for study, a social hall, and offices. Some have a separate room for Torah study, called the בית מדרש beth midrash, lit. "house of study".

What is a Mezuzah?
A mezuzah is found on doorposts in Jewish homes. It is a little case, containing a tiny scroll. The writing on the scroll is from the bible. It is in Hebrew and is called the Shema. It says that Jewish people should love God and keep his rules.
