What's Up at CEC is Taking a Break until January 2018

Shalom Members and Friends -

We hope that during Hanukkah you have been able to stand in the light of your Hanukiot and share the blessings of our miracle of survival. Every Jew is the like the oil that lasted for eight days, we continue to survive against every strife with the miracle of life.

As the year comes to an end, we wish you all a happy and healthy holiday season. The weekly What's Up is taking a break until January. We will return with new updates and events to share with all. Be sure to read below about our upcoming adult education series that will start in January 2018, as well as our next Shabbat service and Limud session.

We have had a wonderful 2017 together and look forward to seeing you in 2018 as we learn, celebrate, and share our lives together.

Mazel Tov Dawn Bachman

Mazel Tov to Dawn Bachman. On December 16th, Dawn received the Jane B. Mendel Tikkun Olam award from the Jewish Federation of Arkansas in Little Rock at the Sharing Our Light celebration. Congregation Etz Chaim nominated her as the 2017 honoree for her dedication, work, and love of Judaism in our NWA community.

Year End Donations to Congregation Etz Chaim

The generosity of our members and friends enhances the way we all experience Judaism, through inspiring worship services; thought-provoking study; and meaningful personal relationships. Our connections with ourselves, one another and the world beyond our walls are deepened by incredible donors like you.

What lies behind tzedakah is the power of community. We are each other’s guarantors through good times and bad. We have a responsibility not only to ourselves, but to others. In Judaism, giving is not about giving. It is about the transcendent power of community. It is a fulfillment that elevates us and binds us to each other.

You still have time to make a tax deductible donation to Congregation Etz Chaim before the end of the 2017. If you would like to support our wonderful congregation, you may do so online here. We will send you a receipt for your records.

Thank you for sustaining Congregation Etz Chaim.
