Rabbi Jack and Cantorial Soloist Debbye Zanerhaft
Rabbi Jack Zanerhaft joined congregation Etz Chaim in June 2006 as the congregation’s first Rabbi. After many years of studying at his Rabbinical Yeshiva in Brooklyn (Chaim Berlin), he was ordained in New York. Rabbi Zanerhaft continues his rabbinical education at the Shalom Hartman Institute in Jerusalem, Israel. Rabbi Zanerhaft is also active in the Tulsa Jewish Community, serving on the Community Relations Committee and the Holocaust Education Council. Additionally, Rabbi Zanerhaft also has a successful general law practice. Rabbi Zanerhaft received his undergraduate degree in Economics and History from Brooklyn College. He received his Juris Doctorate from the Vermont Law School and completed Prosecutor’s School at Northwestern University School of Law. He serves on the Board of Directors of Congregation B’nai Emunah, the Tulsa Jewish Retirement Health Care Center, the Charles Schusterman Jewish Community Center, as well as numerous other Jewish and secular philanthropic organizations.
Cantorial soloist Debbye Zanerhaft also joined congregation Etz Chaim in June 2006. Mrs. Zanerhaft brings with her years of musical and liturgical training, experience and knowledge. She studied Musical Theatre at The University of Nevada, Las Vegas, performed in many musicals and toured with various professional artists. Mrs. Zanerhaft has officiated at numerous life cycle events, has served as guest Cantorial soloist at several synagogues and temples around the country, performs with K’lay Kodesh, the liturgal ensemble at Congregation B’nai Emunah in Tulsa, and is a B’nai Mitzvah tutor. She is a member of the Women Cantors Network, the Guild of Temple Musicians and a Life Member of CAJE.
